The parish of Darvel was disjoined from that of Louden and of Galston on the 7th March 1892, and erected quoad sacra. In 1992 Darvel Parish Church, which was termed Darvel Central after the 1929 union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, united with the charge of Darvel Irvine Bank and Eastern Memorial, under the name of Darvel. The Kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Irvine and later of Irvine and Kilmarnock. |
