The Presbytery of Turriff was erected at a time during the years of 1606 and 1638, with the majority of the parishes within the court having been annexed from the Presbytery of Fordyce, the register of the Presbytery begins in 1642. The Presbyteries of Deer and Turriff were united together in 1654, however this union was to be short lived and in 1657 they were severed again. The Presbytery of Turriff formerly sat within the Synod of Aberdeen. On the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976, the Presbytery was united with the Presbytery of Deer to form the Presbytery of Buchan. |
