The Kirk Session of Edinburgh Prestonfield was begun in 1898 as an extension charge in the parish of Liberton. A mission church was built for this charge at Cameron Toll in 1902 and the parish of Edinburgh Prestonfield was subsequently disjoined from Liberton, Mayfield and Duddingston in 1908, and erected as a parish quoad sacra. In 1974 Prestonfield united with the charge of Rosehall under the name of Priestfield and following the union the former Prestonfield church and hall were sold and later demolished. The Kirk Session of Prestonfield sat within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Edinburgh throughout its existence. |
