A chapel-of-ease was erected in the district of Peterhead East in 1834, the minister and congregation of which, went over to the Free Church at the time of the disruption in 1843, retaining the church for a time when they did so. The parish of Peterhead East was later erected in 1877 when it was disjoined from that of Peterhead. In 1961 Peterhead East united with the former United Free Church congregation of Peterhead South, under the name of Peterhead St Andrew's. The Kirk Session sat within the Presbytery of Deer until the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Buchan. |
