The church of Dundonald, Ayrshire, served a medieval parish appropriated to Paisley Abbey. It was rebuilt in 1803. A chapel at Crosbie, or Corsbie, was transferred to Monkton and Prestwick in 1651, but restored to Dundonald in 1688. The parish of Fullarton was disjoined from Dundonald in 1874. Dundonald itself is in Ayr presbytery, and until the reorganisation of 1929 was in the synod of Glasgow and Ayr, thereafter in that of Ayr until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
