A parliamentary church was built at Foss in 1830 and the parish was later disjoined from that of Dull in 1845 and erected as an independent parish, quoad sacra. In 1932, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929, Foss was joined with the Tummelbridge congregation of the former United Free Church session of Kinloch Rannoch St Luke's. After the union, under the name of Foss and Tummel, the Foss church was renovated and a link followed in 1949 with Tenandry. In 1977 a further union was established with Kinloch Rannoch to form the session of Foss and Rannoch. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Weem, later of Dunkeld and, following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
