The Kirk Session of Edinburgh Highland Church was formed on the 4th July 1948, when the General Assembly united together the two charges of St Oran's Gaelic Church and St Columba's. After the union the St Columba's Church continued in use as the place of worship and the St Oran's building was sold. A further union followed in 1956 with Tolbooth St John's, under the name of Highland Tolbooth St John's, and in 1979 the session of Greyfriar's, Tolbooth and Highland was established following an addition union with Greyfriar's. The Kirk Session sits within the Presbytery of Edinburgh. |
