Description
|
The Stirling of Glorat muniments preserved at Glorat House, consist of titles and other formal writs relating to the estate of Glorat, Stirlingshire, and Renton, Berwickshire. There are also a few writs relating to the Keepership of Dumbarton Castle. The writs extend from c1260 to c1791. An inventory has been prepared by the late Sir George Stirling and a copy of this is available for consultation in the National Archives of Scotland. A number have been printed in 'The Stirlings of Keir' by Sir William Fraser and in 'The Stirlings of Craigbernard and Glorat' by Joseph Bain, 1883.
