1821, March 24. Letter to Robert Gordon at Laybait from [signature indecipherable] at Bosue, describing his triumphant campaign against the Neopolitan rebels. "... the apparition of the celebrated revolutionary chief Senr Pepe with 23,000 was there of an instant - the dispersion of this mass and his precipitate flight to Naples was a kind of maneouvre hitherto rarely seen in military operations ... the people have every where rejoiced at the destruction of the Edifice raised by the Carbonari ..."
1829, April 8. Instructions for Robert Gordon as Ambassador Extraordinary at Constantinople.
