Letter from the minister and Kirk Session of Lochmaben expressing thanks to the Earl of Hopetoun for his beneficence to the poor of the town and parish during 'the late inclement season', 14 February, 1789.
Copy of a letter on Bo'ness Canal Co business by Robert Whitworth, 26 December 1789, saying that his report will be ready for the meeting on 29 December.
Letter by John Cowan, Bo'ness to Lord Hopetoun, 27 December 1789 - 'With you ... our Canal, a work of great salvation to this Town and County, will go forward to completion, and without you it will go to distruction.'
