This material mainly relates to William Mitchell's mother's family:-
MS 39/1 Cassette tape: Schola Clara: The High School of Dundee, 1911-1918, spoken by W. Fraser Mitchell. Gives brief outline of history, duties and running of the school and names of masters and staff. Includes personal reminiscences by the author, of important local and national personalities and events during this period, in particular the founding of the English Association by Easton S. Valentine; Rev. George Gilfillan and Rachel Annand Taylor; Captain Scott's Antarctic Expedition, and the sinking of the ship 'Titanic'
MS 39/2 (1) Notes for proposed illustrated talk: A Century of Dundee Life, 1865-1965: Recollections of Mrs W.F. Mitchell (1861-1948) and her son Professor W. Fraser Mitchell (1900- ). Includes: List of suggested illustrative material. [Originally compiled as "a possible contribution to Mr Jackson's occasional serial descriptions of Dundee given under the title of 'Peter Jackson's Dundee', with collaboration of Mr Boyd of the Dundee Art Galleries and Museum Service"]
