3 Printed circular, letter, 1 December 1909 signed by J. Arthur Thomson. Asks for support for a memorial to Lord Pentland, secretary for Scotland recommending Patrick Geddes for the Directorship of the Royal Scottish Museum; with copy of the memorial and note by Thomson asking recipient [? J.T. Ewen] to send one of the letters to Mr Young.
4 Letter, 9 December 1909, Aberdeen. J. Arthur Thomson to [J.T.] Ewen. Returns Mr Young's "magnanimous letter"; regrets that Geddes has had so little recognition; hopes that, if Geddes cannot get the Directorship, Young will.
5 Letter, 20 March 1911, Edinburgh. [Professor] Patrick Geddes to [J.T.] Ewen. Expects to be in Aberdeen with J.A. Thomson and is writing to Mr Clyne, an architect and to Mr Longden, Curator of the Art Galleries about the Cities and Town Planning Exhibition (1911). Asks if setting up a guarantee fund would be practicable and who are "the active people" in Dundee. [Typescript on "Cities and Town Planning Exhibition 1911" headed notepaper with signature and some additions by hand].
6 Postcard, 23 September [19]12, Edinburgh. P[atrick] Geddes to [J.T.] Ewen. Enquires about the name and address of a mathematics teacher he came across through Ewen to tutor his son.
7 Postcard [date stamp illegible], Hammersmith. P[atrick] Geddes to [J.T.] Ewen. Printed syllabus of a six lecture course on "Bonnie Dundee a study of possible improvements" to be given by Professor Geddes at University College, Dundee. Contains a handwritten note about a letter from F.W. Young telling him that "school gardens are catching on" and asks for advice on his acting as a professional consultant in this field.
8 Letter, 9 June 1919, Dundee. P[atrick] Geddes to [J.T.] Ewen sic. Invites him to visit the "Mars" training ship before Captain Scott, who is "very anxious about his life work", leaves it. There is hope that the Scottish Education Department may take it over from the admiralty. Refers to an enclosure-MS 197/9? Postscript inviting him to attend at lecture in Dundee. [Handwritten in one hand; postscript and signature in Geddes' handwriting].
9 Small diagram signed "Patrick" [Patrick Geddes] showing an elevation of hills, trees, a loch etc. At ground level are the words: "Miner"; "Woodsman"; "Hunter"; "Shepherd"; "Peasant"; and "Fisher" [capitals in ink, rest pencilled in]. Written below diagram, in descending order: (i) Microcosmos Naturae; (ii) Sedes Hominum [the races of men]; (iii) Theatrum Historiae [theatre of history]; (iv) Eutopia/Kakotopia Futuris! [Paradise/Bell of the future!].

11 Letter, 5 November 1926, Dundee. Professor William W. McClelland, Dundee [Teacher] Training College to [J.T.] Ewen. Concerns arrangements for Ewen to meet Robert Williamson, a student at the teacher training college, for his Article 39 endorsement in science.
12 Newspaper cutting of Monday 13 February 1933-an obituary of J. Arthur Thomson under headline "Scots scientist of world renown" who died at 71. Accompanied by a photograph of J.A. Thomson [separate cutting].
13 Letter, 9 May 1933, Dundee. W.G.B. Oliver, secretary to University College, Dundee to J.T. Ewen. Advises him of an invitation he will receive to a College Reception on 31 May [1933].
14 Letter, 22 May 1933, Perivale. R.A. Watson Watt to [J.T.] Ewen. Refers to "having sat at your feet at Brechin High"; thanks him for his offer to "look after the thunderstorms" of Angus.
15 Letter, 25 August 1939, Dundee. R[obert] C[ampbell] to [J.T.] Ewen. Thanks him for his positive comments on a book he co-authored with [Professor Alexander David] Peacock and also expresses thanks to his committee and himself for their help with the book
