a) Copy of last will and testament of JHSL; passports for JHSL and Lady Edith; paper passport issued to JHSL by the Consul at Chefo; miscellaneous correspondence to JHSL and Lady Edith from variety of sources incl. School of Oriental Studies, Foreign Office etc.; newspaper clippings; Chinese newspaper; post cards; Chinese 'calling' cards; Chinese texts; copy of speech at opening of Victory pier, 1918; photographs of a picnic by an unknown; copy of school magazine, The Watsonian, containing letter from JHSL; copy of magazine The Land of Sinim. b) Impression of official government seal of Weihaiwei (original ivory in National Museum of Scotland); Weihaiwei Government Gazette Extraordinary, 1918. c) Notes on three gold coins (Yuan Shih-K'ai); catalogues of the Stewart Lockhart Collection of Chinese paintings (typed copies by Shiona Airlie - handwritten copy by Otto Scott Irvine). d) Correspondence with British Museum, National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Merchant Company, etc., regarding the JHSL coin collection, and notes on its sale. e) Copy of Colonial Office papers relating to the extension of the boundaries of Hong Kong. f) List of papers retrieved from Edinburgh University Library - Special Collections. These had been lent to the Oriental Department of the University by Otto Scott Irvine, circa. 1967. g) Notes, letters, publications - all concerning JHSL's interest in Chinese coinage
