Records of the Court of Session. The electronic catalogue contains the basic lists of court registers which have to be ordered out and searched to identify the individual processes associated with them. We are currently transferring the information in the registers into our electronic catalogue so that they can be used as an index to surviving processes, and to identify actions which took place but for which no processes survive.

High Court of Justiciary processes:
- The processes for 1829 onwards have been catalogued individually and are available on the electronic catalogue. However, details of processes less than 75 years old are not available in the internet version of our electronic catalogue for data protection reasons.
- The processes for 1800-1828 are being catalogued individually and are appearing gradually on the electronic catalogue as work progresses.
- The processes for 1550 to 1799 are listed by box, mostly with several boxes per year. We hope to progress to cataloguing these individually in future, as resources permit.

The Register of Sasines.
- Lists of some of the records are in the NAS electronic catalogue. The indexes and abridgements are only available in paper form in the Legal Search Room at General Register House.
- An electronic search tool has been developed for sasines back to 1781. This incorporates the indexes and abridgements for these years and is available in the NAS search rooms in General Register House.
- The Register of Sasines for 1905 onwards can also be searched on payment of a fee using the Register of Scotland’s Registers Direct service at
