Charter of David I confirming the privileges and regulations of the burgh of Perth as laid down in grants by William I and Robert I, among them, that the burgesses of Perth were to have their merchant guild except for the fullers and weavers, that no ship coming up the Tay was to sell goods or break bulk 'bulcam frangere' below Drumlay (sands), that no foreign merchant was to trade in the sheriffdom of Perth outside the burgh, that no one dwelling in the sheriffdom of Perth was to make dyed cloth except burgesses of Perth, and that no village in the sheriffdom was to have a tavern unless the Lord of the village was a knight resident there. Witnesses: William bishop of St Andrews, Patrick bishop of Brechin, Robert seneschal of Scotland, Robert Erskyne and Archibald Douglas, knights, the King's councillors. Perth.
