GD3/2/4/5 Commission under the quarter seal for serving the brieves of Hugh, Master of Eglinton, as heir to his grandfather. Permission is given to hold the inquest in the burgh court house at Irvine because the plague was raging on those Cunningham lands of which he was to be given infeftment. Endorsed: William, lord Semple; Mungo Muir of Rowallan; Charles Mowat of Bushie; Thomas Nevin of Monkredding and Adam Montgomery of Murhous swear, in presence of Cardinal Betoun and others of the lords, to carry out the inquest.
