During the regular transmission of records over 25 years old in 2014 it was discovered that at Forfar the records retention schedule had been mis-applied by court staff and records were being routinely destroyed. This has led to most significantly the loss of criminal material from 1983 - 1988, A & B processes from 1981 - 1987, and the loss of a selection of other records. Notes have been made on the catalogue for each series where records are missing, presumed destroyed, with further information. |
