Description |
As follows:- William by the grace of God King of Scots to all good men of his whole land clerks and laymen greeting. Know men present and future that I have given and granted and by this my charter confirmed to Hugo brother of Helias the clerk, Benne [Benholm] by its right marches and with all its just pertinents: To be held by him and his heirs of me and my heirs in fee and heritage, in wood and plain, in lands and waters, in meadows and pastures, in moors and myres, in stanks and mills, and with all else to the said land justly pertaining, with gallows and pit with soc and sac with tol and them and infangthef, freely quietly fully and honourably; Doing therefor to me and my heirs half a knight's service. Witnesses, earl David [of Huntingdon] my brother, Hugo my chancellor earl Duncan [of Fife], earl Gilbert [of Strathearn], William de Morville the constable, Malcolm son of earl Duncan, Richard de Prebenda my clerk, John de Hasting, William de Hay, Humphrey de Berkeley [Barclay], William de Montfort [Montford], Roger de Mortimer, Adam de Syreis.
