Description |
This collection includes writs of the lands of Fraser of Kinneries, following several 17th century apprisings, together with some earlier documents relating to these lands and a few unconnected documents. These were re-bundled. The series does not include documents relating to the transference of land to Duff of Muirtown, though at some time it apparently did so, nor is the Muirtown property, as distinct from superiority, included.
Papers of Hugh Robert Duff of Muirtown and of his successors from the bulk of the collection. These bundles fall roughly into three groups; documents concerning H R Duff, (d. 1832) 1776-1864; documents concerning Huntly George Gordon Duff, his son, 1833-58; and documents concerning Georgina Huntly Duff, surviving daughter of the last, and her husband Francis Darwin, 1860-1912. There are also bound volumes and plans. |
