(1-2) 21 Nov. 1599. Act of cautionry by Mungo Lyndsay of Bonnill and Walter Colquhoun of Kilmardannie for Alexander Colquhoun of Luss, 5000 merks, and many other similar bonds.
(5) n.d. Offers made by John Makfarlane, fiar of Arroquhar, and Malcolm McFarlane, fiar of Gartanertane, with consent of Andrew McFarlane of Arroquhar, and Andrew Dow McFarlane of Gartanartane, their fathers, to Ludovick, duke of Lennox, their master and superior, for his relief at his majesty's hands.
(6) 6 Sept. 1599. Copy signet letters of horning charging Andrew Makfarlane of Arroquhar, and many other Macfarlanes (specified) broken highlandmen for the most part, having no certain dwelling, and therefore they are to be charged at market crosses of Stirling and Dumbarton, for their thefts and oppression upon peaceable and good subjects, to compeir on 15 November next to underlie such orders as shall be taken with them for the good of the country and restraining of theft, robbery, sorning and oppression.
(7) 7 Nov. 1599. Letter of assurance by Alexander Colquhoun of Lus for himself and in name of his surname, kin, friends, followers, parts and partakers assuring Andrew McFarlan of Arroquhar, John McFarlan, his son and apparent heir, Andrew Dow Mcfarlan of Gartartin, Malcolm McFarlan, his son, and the rest of the surname, kin, friends, parts and partakers, to be unhurt, unharmed, unpursued, unmolested and untroubled in their persons, lands, rents, heritages, rooms, steadings, tacks, possessions, corn, cattle, goods and gear, until the last of November instant.
