This Calendar does not include the "Logan Charter" (GD141/no. A (in first box), c.1165) so called by Sir Herbert Maxwell who published it in facsimile in the Ayrshire Archaeological Society's Volumes. That charter is a stray from the Holyrood writs at Edinburgh and has nothing to do with the McDowells of Logan. It relates to land in Buittle Parish.
