1. n.d. Submission between John Campbell, laird of Glenurquhar, and John Campbell of Lochtenell: they appoint John McCoull of Dunollyk, Colin Campbell of Crannycht and Alexander Menzeis of Rednochgt, for Glenurquhar, and Colin Campbell of Ardkinglas, Dougal Campbell, young laird of Auchinbrek, Lauchlan McLauchlan of that ilk, for Lochtenell. In case of dispute, the earl of Argyll is appointed as oversman. Dispute includes alleged heirship committed by Lochtenell on lands of Lochow, pertaining to Glenurquhar; slaughter committed by the latter and his servants and friends upon Donald Glass McCoull McAne Makineyll, servant to said Lochtenell. Copy assurance by Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay, for himself, kin, friends, tenants, servants and dependers, in favour of Donald Dow Camrown alias McEwyn in Lochtchabir, and John Dow, his brother, and their men, servants and dependers, to pass and repass through granter's lands, to pursue and invade the Clangregour, the king's rebels, till 31 August next, providing they do no harm in their passage.
4. 1563 September 13. Stirling. Extract order of Privy Council that all decayed parish kirks are to be repaired on expenses of the parishioners and parson.
5. 1590 December 18. Discharge by Alexander Lawson, writer, to Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhar, kt, of £400 scots, as his part of volunteer contribution to entertainment of the Danish ambassadors and their companies, at their late being in these parts.
6. 1597 December 29. Signet letters at instance of Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhy, kt, against Colin Campbell of Glenlyone, charging him to produce commission or other letters of justiciary purchased against tenants of said Sir Duncan, before Lords of Privy Council, 29 January next to come. Endorsed with execution, 8 January 1590/1.
7. 1599 August 1. Execution of signet letters charging Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhy, kt, as master and landlord to Malcolm Beg McFarlane in Stuk Chapell, Duncan and John Dow McFarlane, his sons, Malcolm Galt McFarlane in Ardkendiroken, Allister McFarlane, brother to Andrew Dow in Stuk Chapell, to compear personally, and present them, 4 September next to come. |
