Description |
(1) Instrument narrating that Finlay MakNab compeared in chapel of St Martin in parish church of burgh of Perth at 9 oclock and claimed damages against Edana de Abircrumby, who was absent at the time stated, for action between them in sheriff court of Perth, 24 August 1450. Notary: Andrew Umfrai, clerk, St Andrews diocese. Witnesses: Mr Dougal de Lochow, Robert de Spens, Andrew de Inchemertin, Andrew de Yrlande, Robert de Fodringham and sir Richard Charteris, chaplain.
(2) Letters of bailiery by Dean Adam Formane, prior of the Charterhouse situate beside the burgh of Perth, and convent thereof, appointing Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay as bailie of lands of Glendochir, Artolonyth and Craigie, and forester of forest of Kyndmoir, all in lands of Glendochart, sheriffdom of Perth, for 5 years, 22 September 1551. Common seal entire on tag. Signed by granter as prior, sir John Burnath, sir Thomas Galloway, sir John Sym, procurator, sir James Meik, vicar, and sir Willaim Clapen. No witnesses.
(3) Instrument narrating contract between Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay and Ellen Stuart, relict of John McNab of Boyayne, 'assedationar' of lands underwritten, whereby said Ellen assigns to said Colin all tacks and claims she has from prior and convent of Charterhouse beside burgh of Perth, to 6 merkland of Kirktoun of Killin, 73 merkland of Ardnagalt, ?3 merkland of Inchawyne, 20s land of the Schowe?, 2 merkland of Auchcarne, 6 merkland of Kynwald Slayocht and Lairclosk and half merkland of isle of Ran, in lordship of Glendochtchert, sheriffdom of Perth, and in return said Colin binds himself to provide said Ellen with victual as specified, 14 July 1558. (4) Charter by George Balfour, prior of carthusian house called Vallis virtutis formerly situated near burgh of Perth, and convent thereof, to Colin Campbell of Glenurquhard and Katherine Ruthven, his spouse, in liferent, and to Duncan Campbell, their son and apparent heir, in fee, of 3 merkland of Kirktoun of Killin, 20s land of Badnacarrie, 20s land of Craignevin, 6 merkland of Kinyaldy with island called Ilanrane, 2 merkland of Qucharne, 2 merkland of Artnagald Eister, 1 merkland of Artnagald Wester, 20s land of Soy, 3 merkland of Incheschewin, lands of Artollony with fishing on Lochtay, lands of Ballacraig, with office of bailie, in lordship of Glendochard, sheriffdom of Perth, 6 February 1572/3. Seal of convent, poor impression, on tag. Signed by granter, James Sym and Andrew Blythtman. Witnesses: Mr George Boswall, chirurgian, Alexander Anderson, Andrew Brydy, burgesses of Perth, William Dundas and Mr George Quhyt.

(9) Bond by James Balfour, prior and commendator of priory of Charterhouse and place thereof, sometime situate beside the burgh of Perth, and his successors as priors, to confirm to Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, kt., and Colin Campbell, his eldest son, all charters and other titles given to the Campbells of Glenurquhay by dean Adam Forman and George Balfour, priors and commendators, of 10 merkland of Auchlyne, 3 merkland of Kirktoun of Killin, 20s land of Badnacarrie, 20s land of Craignavene, 6 merkland of Kinyaldie with isle called Ilanrane, 2 merkland of Ardnagald Eister, 2 merkland of Aucharne, 1 merkland of Ardnagald Waster, 20s land of Soy, 3 merkland of Inschewin, lands of Ardtollony, with fishing on Lochtay, and lands of Balnacraig, ?1 merkland of the Clachan of Killin lying beside the Port of Ilanran, with offices of bailiery, in lordships of Glendoquhart, Deschour and Tyre, in sheriffdom of Perth, 1590. Witnesses: John Campbell in Port of Lochtay, John MakIndewar in Portbane, Alexander Levingstoun, Thomas Broun, William Pantoun, James Broun, granter's servitors, and Gavin Hammiltoun, notary.
