Including: 1. Feu charter by James, bishop of Dunkeld, to Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay and Katherine Ruthven, his spouse, of lodging belonging to cathedral church of Dunkeld in burgh of Perth, on north part of South St., between lands of John Campbell of Laweris, William Wilsone and William Andersone on east, lands of James Robertsone to the west, graveyard of said burgh on north and the common way called the Southgait on south, 2 December 1573. Signed by James, bishop of Dunkeld, Mr William Edmonstoun, chancellor of Dunkeld, Mr Thomas McGibboun, prebend of Monyde, Jo. Bartoun, dean of Dunkeld, David Spens, archdean, Mr James Lauder, prebend of Fardischaw, [Logiebride], Mr David McGill, prebendar of Fongart, Duncan McNair, treasurer, Thomas Crukschank of Lundeiff, and William Drummond of Creif. Seals of granter and of chapter of cathedral kirk of Dunkeld, both almost entire on tags.
2. Charter by Robert, bishop of Dunkeld, to Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay, and his heirs male, of lodging as in no. 1, (blank) 15 (blank). Signed by granter, Mr Jo. Bartoun and Mr David Spens, archdeacon. 2 seals almost entire on tags.
3. Instrument of sasine following on no. 1, 10 December 1573. Notary: Henry Elder, St Andrews diocese. Witnesses: Patrick Eviot of Balhoussy, Andrew Marsar, bailie, Adam Stewart, pensioner of Chartarhouss, David Murray, Gavin Hammiltoun, Dougal Campbell, servants of said Colin, Alexander Quhite, George Bow, burgesses, and William Ross, sergeant of said burgh. Seal on tag.
4. Instrument narrating that Mr George Quite, servitor to Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay, compeired and produced apprising, 20 March 1573/4, at instance of said Colin and Katherine Ruthven, his spouse, before provost and bailies of burgh of Perth, narrating that they have obtained sasine in that lodging land and tenement on north side of Southgait, between land of John Campbell of Laweris on east, James Robertsone, William Adesone, Patrick Weitwood and Walter Young alias Piper on the west, vennel called Flemyngis vennel and kirkyard of the parish kirk of Perth on north, and common calsay of said burgh on south, 'and becaus the said lugeing land and tenement is auld ruynoss and decayit in all partis and partlie aluterlie vaist and oninhabitat and apperandlie to fall downe instantlie and decay as mekill thairof is ellis fallin down vaist and decayit, quharthrow the annualars thairof ar able to recogines and leid process tharupon and obtene propirtie of the samyn, except the said Colyn and his said spouss edifie big and repair the samyn', and before this is done it is to be apprised, and therefore James, now bishop of Dunkeld, is to be summoned to compier in the tolbooth in a court to be held on 7 April instant, to see said lodging apprised, and thereafter, George Johneson, Thomas Monypenny, Thomas Fentoun, William Glook, David Mar, David Horn, John Maxtoun, Andrew Maltman, Oliver Car, Denys Conquerour, Walter Lamb, Andrew Scoupe, William Hall, Andrew Brady and Duncan MakGregor, burgess of Perth, were summoned to compier and apprise the said lodging, all personally apprehended by Thomas Robertsone alias Card, officer and executor thereof, but said bishop not compeiring, the bailies ordain the persons of inquest abovewritten to pass upon the said apprising and they passed to the ground and after consideration found the inner land thereof next the yard utterly fallen down and waste, inhabited by no person, and the rest of the lodging, viz. the fore land and hall, ruinous, old, faulty and decayed greatly in slates, timber and walls in diverse parts thereof, and also found no annuals presently paid or owed from the same, nor any maills paid, and therefore apprised it to be worth 20 merks yearly maill, if the same was occupied by tenants, 7 April 1574. 5. Instrument of sasine following on precept in charter, 8 July 1578, by Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay to Patrick Campbell of Auchynryre, his third son, and specified heirs, of the lodging in burgh of Perth, bounds specified, 26 March 1578. Notary: Henry Eldar, St Andrews diocese. Witnesses to sasine: Alexander Ruthven of Freeland, Ninian Low, George Dow MacGregour and Adam Brunsone, notary. Witnesses to charter: John Henrisone, John MacLaurent, and Gavin Hammiltoun, notary, granter's servants.
6. Discharge by Mr Patrick Campbell of Auchinryre to Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, his brother, of 2000 merks scots, as redemption of house and manse which pertained to the Bishop of Dunkeld within burgh of Perth, 8 January 1582/3. Signed by granter; seal on tag. Witnesses: Thomas Stewart of Grantully, James Sanderis, John Roy Buchquhannane, and John McGregour.
7. Charter by Robert, bishop of Dunkeld, with consent of chapter thereof, to Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, son and heir of deceased Colin Campbell of Glenurquhay, of tenement in burgh of Perth, bounds specified, 28 October 1584. Witnesses: John Halieday, writer, Alexander Creichtoun of Drylaw, William Balfoure, James Kincaid, servants of said Alexander. Bailie of burgh of Perth: Thomas Monypenny.
