Description |
Including: 1. Copy great seal charter granting Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay the office of bailiery of Deschear, Toyer, Glenlyon and barony of Glendochart in sheriffdom of Perth, 3 September 1498. RMS ii, 2448. Badly damaged.
2. Precept by Archibald Campbell, captain of Dounstaveinche and crowner of Lorne, not addressed, charging some unspecified persons to enter John Campbell of Glenurquhay, his officers and factors, to all manner of offices, uptaking and inbringing to said John all duties, casualties, and accidents whatsomeever, pertaining to him within lordship of Lorne, with fishing of the water of Aw, and discharging Archibald Campbell of Inneraw from intromitting with said casualties etc, 6 November 1538.
3. Another copy of no. 2, this one signed by granter.
4. List of those charged at market across of Perth to find surety within 6 days to underlie the law in tolbooth of Edinburgh, 11, 18 June 1558.
5. Copy old acts of court made before Colin Campbell and Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, kt., his son, and ratified in his court with advice of commons and inhabitants of the country for the well thereof, 1576-1620.
7. Minutes of court of justiciary held at Kenmore 1 August 1580. Panel, David MakPatrik alias Levage and other thieves.
8. Commission by Archibald, earl of Angus, lord Douglas, Dalkeyth and Abernethye, appointing Andrew Pitcarne of Innerethie and Robert Carmechell as bailies depute of regality of Abernethy, in that part, to compeir before Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhirt or other judges, and [to release] Peter Fentoun, dwelling in Aberurgie in said regality, who is presently apprehended and detained as suspected culpable of theft and other crimes, from said Duncan to freedom of said regality, he finding caution for his appearance at Abernethie on 2 July. At Edinburgh, 18 May 1587. Prepared signet; signed by granter.

Precept by Argyll addressed to bailies, crowners etc in bounds and dominions of Argyle and Lorne, discharging them from poinding, molesting, troubling inquieting or doing wrong to Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, kt., or his tenants, within bounds of Glenurquhay, Lochaw or Lorne, 20 March 1597.
