Description |
Narrates:- 1. Bond 10 October 1679 by Earl of Breadalbane, then Earl of Caithness, for 2500 merks scots to James Campbell of Kilmun. Assignation [ ] June 1681 to Sir James Smollet of Bonhill (then of Stoniflat). Translation 21 July 1702 to Patrick Campbell, younger of Barcaldine. Translation 12 November 1705 to Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine. 2. Bond 31 October 1698 by John, earl of Breadalbane, and John, lord Glenorchy, for £4250 scots to Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine. 3. Decreet of adjudication 20 February 1706 at instance of Alexander Campbell against Earl of Breadalbane and Lord Glenorchy.
Narrates Alexander Campbell has agreed to restriction of claims under foresaid deeds and has undertaken to make payment to James Stewart of Fassincloich, Duncan Stewart, his son, and Isobell Stewart, wife to said James Stewart, for her liferent interest, of 2000 merks scots as reversion on wadset on Barnamuck granted by John Campbell of Achichaw on 10 September 1692.
They therefore wadset to Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine for 5000 merks the 4 merklands of Auchnacroish and 4 merklands of Barnamuck in parishes of Kilmaluag and Ballevaodan, lordship of Lorne, Argyle-shire, with superplus duty of £60 scots payable out of wadset lands of Achacha and Achinryer, parish of Ballivaodan, and of 40 merks scots payable out of wadset lands of Barnamuck, repayable at Whitsunday 1712. If Patrick Campbell redeems wadset of Barnamuck from James Stewart etc this to be redeemable from him for 2000 merks at Whitsunday 1714.
Written by James Campbell, writer in Edinburgh. Subscribed by Earl of Breadalbane at Taymouth 7 July 1707 with Mungo Campbell of Kinloch and Patrick Campbell, servant to the Earl, as witnesses. Subscribed at Edinburgh 10 July 1707 by Lord Glenorchy and Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine with Sir William Calderwood, advocate, Colin Campbell of Carwhine, WS, and [ ] Calderwood, servant to Sir William Calderwood, as witnesses. |
