The company was formed in April 1904 as EH Beeton & Co Ltd, to acquire the business of Messrs Cross & Beeton, net manufacturers, 100 Commerce Street, Glasgow. It changed its name in December 1912 when it purchased the net manufacturing firm of James Jack & Sons Ltd, Stonehaven. Thereafter its operations were based at Stonehaven, though it also took over Lowestoft Net Works Ltd in 1912. In 1920 it amalgamated with the larger firm of J & W Stuart Ltd to form Stuart and Jack Ltd. The name later changed to J & W Stuart Ltd. |
