The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland Ladies? Golf Club was formally constituted in 1929, but its records show that a club of sorts had been established by at least 1925. Nevertheless, the Club held its Golden Jubilee in 1979. It always had a small membership, and its dissolution was proposed on a number of occasions before it was finally wound up in 1982. In the main, the members went on club outings, but it was involved in the annual match for the Rawson Shield, which was presented to the Civil Service Sports Council in 1928 for competition among the Civil Service ladies' golf clubs in the south east of Scotland. |
