The firm of Ross and Sleigh was established in 1889 by Messrs T F Ross and W L Sleigh. In 1896 they formed a public limited Company called The Rossleigh Cycle Co Ltd. This went into liquidation in 1898, and a new limited Company was formed: The New Rossleigh Cycle and Motor Co Ltd. The Company's name was finally changed to Rossleigh Ltd in 1907.
