Including: 1. 1674, Jan 23: Extract contract between lords of treasury and George, Earl Marischal, assigning to him customs and impost of wines of kingdom, with special power to intromit with same for Aberdeen and Banff, from north water of Montrose to water mouth of Spey, in satisfaction of residue of £10,000 sterling granted to deceased William, Earl Marischall in 1660 and new gift of £5,000, (exchequer register). 2. 1674, Jun 18: Recommendation by privy council that tacksmen of customs and excise be required to detain arms imported without warrant. 3. 1674, Jun 19: Treasury order to tacksmen to seize imported arms and ammunition. 4. 1674, Jul 15: Treasury order to tacksmen to buy gunpowder imported at Bo'ness by Glasgow merchants. 5. 1674, Aug 20: Receipt by James Kennowie, servitor to Sir William Bruce of Balcaskie, for full payment of 2 bonds by Frederick Hamilton, John Caldwall and Robert Cumming, merchants in Glasgow. 6. 1674, Aug 27: Extract discharge by James, Marquess of Montrose and his curators to HM cashkeeper and commissioners of treasury for £10,000 sterling granted to his deceased father out of customs of Glasgow, (exchequer register 1675, Feb 19). 7. 1674, Oct 2: Instrument of requisition in favour of Sir William Bruce of Balcaskie against James Thomsone, under clerk in exchequer, to deliver up eque for his account of bullion. |
