On the 5th July 1918 there was a meeting held within the Prisoner of War Camp of Graudenz in Prussia between members of the United Presbyterian Church and the English Free Church. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the establishment of a church within the camp and the provisions that would accordingly be made for worship. Public worship was to be held on Sunday mornings at 10.00am, devotional week night services at 8.30pm and also Daily Intercession at 11.45am. It was decided to name the Church session of Graudenz, The United Presbyterian and English Free Churches Session. The session held regular monthly meetings with special meetings called when circumstances required it until, on the 17th November 1918, the final communion was held and the congregation was duly dissolved, due to the early repatriation of many of the members. |
