The Individual letters are indorsed with the names of the correspondents, dates of the letters, and in many cases, a note of the contents by Wodrow himself, [cf Robert Baillie, `Letters and Journals' (referred to hereafter as `Letters and Journals'), Bannatyne Club, Edinburgh, 184 1-2, vol. III, note on p.275].

1. Copy narration of execution of Mary, queen of Scots. 1586.
2. Letter from John Campbell, (a capuchin) to Sir James Semple of Beltrees, ambassador for the king of Scotland, on his deliverance from his `lothesome lodginge' (the Marishallsea prison) giving an account of his journey from Parrice to visit George Campbell of Dinkell, his father, in Scotland, protesting that he only took ship for England as there was not a Scottish ship available at Callice and was in no mind to remain in England, much less to meddle with matters of estate. From the Marshalsea, 22 Nov. 1599.
3. Copy arraignment of Essex and Southampton. 28 Feb. 1600.

Letter from James Hamilton (to Sir James Sempill) recommending Dr. Challenor and Mr. James Usher (`a gentleman of as great pietie and as learned of his years as any in his majesty's dominions') who accompanies him, and had a book to present to his majesty, asking addressee to bring them to my lord of Canterbury and get them speech with king. Dublin 4 May 1612.
9. Letter from Mr. Ninian Drummond, parson of Kynnowll, (to Sir James Sempile), about parsonage of Kynnoule. Edinburgh, 28 July 1612.
10. Information by said Mr. Ninian Drummond (for archbishop of Glasgow), relating to said kirk of Kynnoule. n.d.

Letter from Peter Bruce (to Sir James Semple) relating to Mr. James Scot's request to addressee to interpone his credit at king's hand for purchasing a mandate to parliament to pass act in favour of college of St. Leonards, mentioning writer's brother, a regent of college who pressed to `stir up the universitie to a thankful remembrans of his majesties liberalitie toward them in furnishing thair bibliothek with sic stoir of buikis'.
