Incorporated by the Stirlingshire Midland Junction Railway Act of 16 July 1846 (9 & 10 Vic. c.165).
The same Act authorised the Stirlingshire Midland Junction Railway to become vested in the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway, on such requisition being made by either company, and the Directors of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway accordingly "elected to take the execution of the line".
The Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway was amalgamated with the North British Railway as from 1 August 1865 under the North British and Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway Companies Amalgamation Act of 5 July 1865 (28 & 29 Vic. c.308).
The North British Railway became part of the London and North Eastern Railway as from 1 January 1923 under the North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922. |
