Incorporated by the Slamannan Railway Act of 3 July 1835 (5 & 6 William IV c.55).
The Slamannan Railway, the Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway and the Ballochney Railway were amalgamated under the Monkland Railways Act of 14 August 1848 (11 & 12 Vic. c.134) as the Monkland Railways Company.
The Monkland Railways Company was amalgamated with the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway under the Edinburgh and Glasgow and Monkland Railways Amalgamation Act of 5 July 1865 (28 & 29 Vic. c.217).
The Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway was amalgamated with the North British Railway as from 1 August 1865 under the North British and Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway Companies Amalgamation Act of 5 July 1865 (28 & 29 Vic. c.308).
The North British Railway became part of the London and North Eastern Railway as from 1 January 1923 under the North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922. |
