Authorised under the Clyde Navigation Act of 11 June 1891 (54 Vic. c.38) as the Cessnock Dock Railway.
The Clyde Navigation Act of 9 August 1899 (62 & 63 Vic. c.82) vested the Cessnock Dock Railway in a Joint Committee of the North British, Caledonian and Glasgow and South Western Railways, later known as the Prince's Dock Branch Joint Railway.
The Prince's Dock Branch Joint Railway was vested in the British Transport Commission under the Transport Act 1947. |
