Incorporated under Act of 14 July 1856.
The line was worked by the Glasgow and South Western Railway under agreement sanctioned 11 March 1863 and the company was vested in the Glasgow and South Western Railway as from 1 August 1865 under the Glasgow and South Western Railway (Amalgamations) Act of 5 July 1865.
The Glasgow and South Western Railway became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway as from 1 January 1923 under the North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922. |
