Further powers were conferred upon the Deeside Railway (q.v.) by the Deeside Railway Extension Act of 27 July 1857 under which the capital for the extension authorised thereby was furnished by a new list of original subscribers and kept separate from that of the old company. The new subscribers elected two Directors to the Deeside Board and voted separately on questions of dividend.
The railway was leased to the Great North of Scotland Railway for 999 years from 1 September 1866 in terms of the Great North of Scotland Railway (Amalgamation) Act of 30 July 1866 and the Schedule thereto.
The Deeside Railway, of which this extension formed part, was amalgamated with the Great North of Scotland Railway under Act of 13 July 1876.
The Great North of Scotland Railway became part of the London and North Eastern Railway from 1 January 1923 under the North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922. |
