Originally incorporated under Act of 16 July 1846 and re-incorporated by Act of 28 May 1852. The railway was leased to the Great North of Scotland Railway for 999 years from 1 September 1866 in terms of the Great North of Scotland Railway (Amalgamation) Act of 30 July 1866 and the Schedule thereto.
The undertaking was amalgamated with the Great North of Scotland Railway under Act of 13 July 1876.
The Great North of Scotland Railway became part of the London and North Eastern Railway from 1 January 1923 under the North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922. |
