Incorporated under Act of 31 July 1845 (8 & 9 Vic. c.160.).
Under Act 9 & 10 Vic. c.379 (1846) the company, with the Polloc & Govan Railway, was dissolved and incorporated with the Caledonian Railway.
Owing to difficulties of the Caledonian Railway in consequence of numerous engagements into which they had entered, the Clydesdale Junction Railway was re-incorporated anew under the title "Clydesdale Railway Guaranteed Company" under the Caledonian Railway Arrangement Act 1851 (14 & 15 Vic. c.134.).
Under the Caledonian Railway (Guaranteed Annuities) Act 1880 the Clydesdale Railway Guaranteed Company was dissolved on 1 August 1880 in company with certain other undertakings, all the stocks being thrown together and converted into 4% Guaranteed Annuities Stock of the Caledonian Railway.
The Caledonian Railway became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway as from 1 July 1923 under the North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1923 dated 29 June 1923. |
