Description |
Including: (1) Instrument narrating that John Stewart, lord of Lorne, gave sasine, propriis manibus, to Colin Campbell, knight, of Gleanourchaye, and Jonet Stewart, his spouse, daughter of said John, in lands of Lettirvean and Vrailorne, 17 December 1456. Notary: David Ouchtour, priest, Dunblane diocese. Witnesses: George, bishop of Argyll, Colin Campbell, lord of Lochou, Donald McLachlan of that ilk, Maurice [McFadzen], treasurer of Argyll, Patrick Laudor, vicar of Kippen and chaplain.
(2) Charter de me by James MakNauchtane with consent of Alexander MakNauchtane of Doundaraw, his father, to Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, of annualrent of 20 merks over lands of Elerik Moir in Glenschero, in earldom and sheriffdom of Argyll, 22 January 1585/6. Witnesses: John Scot, legitimate son of William Scot, vicar of Monzie, Donald McEan VcIllemartine VekNarewich in Glenschero, and John Henrysoune, servant of said Duncan. Attested by Gavin Hammiltoun, notary.
(3) Bond by Alexander MakNauchtane of Donndaraw that within 40 days he will cause John MakNauchtane, fiar of Dunndaraw, his son, to seal and subscribe [a charter] made by him with granter's consent, to Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay, no. 2 supra, 22 January 1585/6. Same witnesses. Damaged.
(4) Bond by John MakNauchtane fiar of Doundaraw and Alexander MakNauchtane, liferenter thereof, to cause tenants of 5 merkland of Teirarthire in lordship of Deschour and Toyer, sheriffdom of Perth, to pay yearly to Duncan Campbell of Glenurquhay 'the fier of the victuall awand be thame furth of the saidis landis of Teirarthire ay and quhill he and thai be compleitle satisfeit and pait of the said principall soune of tua hundreth markis money foirsaid and specifeit in the said reversioun', 22 January 1585/6. Same witnesses. |
