Caledonian Railway was incorporated under the Caledonian Railway Act of 31 July 1845. The company became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway as from 1 July 1923 under the North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1923 on 29 June 1923.
The Forth Bridge Railway was incorporated under Act of 5 August 1873. Under Act of 12 July 1882 the North British Railway was to work and maintain the line in perpetuity and the interest and dividends were to be guaranteed by that company, and the Midland, North Eastern, and Great Northern Railways from 30 June 1882. The Forth Bridge Railway was vested in the British Transport Commission under the Transport Act 1947.
The Original North British Railway was incorporated under Act of July 1844. Under Act of 29 July 1862 this original company was amalgamated with the Edinburgh Perth and Dundee Railway and the West of Fife Mineral Railway and their respective subsidiaries to form the new North British Railway. The North British Railway became part of the London and North Eastern Railway from 1 January 1923 under the North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922. |
