These papers relate to Fort William and district. They cast light on the early history of the supply of electricity there. They are also of interest politically and religiously. James McGregor acted as a Liberal agent. He was also involved with the residual United Free Church in its attempts to rebuild locally after most of its congregation and property passed to the Church of Scotland in 1929 following union between the two. The draft history of the congregation (GD1/1100/7) was written by John McGregor, his son. |
