GD1/1009/1-30: Titles and legal documents, Berwickshire, Lanark and Midlothian, 1555-1666; Correspondence and miscellanea, 1682-1872, including warrants for executing covenanters, 1683-84, report on political societies in Paisley, 1793, letters to Lord Advocate, 1778-1799, from Lord Thurlow (on Catholic Relief Bill), General James Grant of Ballindalloch, Lord Chancellor Loughborough and others; autograph letters of George Canning, 1826 and A C Tait, bishop of London, 1864. GD1/1009/31-37: Miscellaneous correspondence and legal papers, 1755-1793, including some on Inverness prison escape, 1763. GD1/1009/38: Precept of sasine over lands in Berwickshire, 1550. |
